  • Nominated for the 2008 Classical Fellowship Awards of the American Pianists Association, Dr. Jonathan Edward Mann enjoys a dynamic performing and teaching career that has taken him across the United States and Europe. He is currently Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music.
    Dr. Mann received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance under Dr. Karen Shaw from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he served as associate instructor and faculty member of the Young Pianist's Program. He earned his Doctorate in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he was teaching assistant to Professor James Tocco as well as a faculty member of the College-Conservatory's Preparatory Department.
    Since arriving to the Pacific Northwest in 2006, Dr. Mann has established himself as a performer, adjudicator, and clinician. In July, Dr. Mann taught and performed at Oregon State University's "Piano Power" camp for area high school students. Upcoming performances include venues in New York City, San Francisco, Greensboro (NC), and Lawrence (KS), as well as adjudications in Great Falls, Seattle, and Lewiston (ID). During the 2008-09 season, Dr. Mann will give lecture-performances on the pedagogical music of Leopold Godowsky at conferences for the Idaho State Music Teachers National Association and the California Association of Music Teachers. In June of 2009, he will record a disc of piano rarities for Centaur Records.
